My dad hasn't played a main series game since Yellow (or any Pokemon games since Stadium 2), but back then his favorite was Fearow.

My mom played Gold & Crystal, and stopped when she couldn't bring her baby over to Hoenn. Her favorite was Snubbull. I managed to bring her back to Pokemon in 2010, when HeartGold and SoulSilver were released. She had a blast! But she hasn't had any interest in playing anything else. She still plays her HeartGold.

I use my favorites too, but that includes megamom counters. The ones that don't carry crunch (read:all of them) get shut down by WoW Misdreavus. A lot of low-tier physical walls can stop it.

My parents aren't interested in pokémon and my dad doesn't know I still play, because he left me and my mother. I remember that when I was 8-9 years old I convinced my father to draw a jirachi with me, I don't know if I still have that drawing. My mother had an important surgery when I was 10.
