You do realize that the showdown calc is in no means different from that one, which has a built in stat calculator, in case you didn't notice. Also you can find out optimal spreads by putting in the real stat you need so you get the needed spreads for it, something ps calc can't do (which is what the kid who asked wanted if i understood that correctly).

How do I deal with Lando-T? The scarfed one is too fast to take out with a non-scarfed Pokemon, and the bulky one is too fast to take out with a non-LO/specs Pokemon. It seems like there's no single Pokemon that can take both builds out easily.

Is there a solid counter for it?

I played around with it on showdown for a "make a team with your favorite mons from each gen" thing. It works if you bring it in later, though without anti-pebble measures you're fugged.

Also rock slide worked well enough at +2 and you get the flinch hax

ok, i can dig it. neat team. here are my proposed changes:

slowbro -> slowking
- regenerator -> oblivious
- iron defense -> psyshock

probopass -> hitmontop
- at least intimidate

so slowking is almost always better than slowbro in doubles because special defense as a stat is harder to come by (because there's no specially based intimidate). especially when you have your own intimidator, which i suggested in hitmontop. so slowking will be a bulkier pick all around and oblivious will prevent you from being taunted. psyshock is there to help your friend steelix out. he's got some spread moves right? there are lots of fighting types that use wide guard, so you can hit their uninvested physical defense stat with your special stat, which bypasses them trying to abuse intimidate + light screen.

really anything over probopass and i'm feeling like hitmontop is pretty good. got your standard intimidate, can run fake out for helping your mons set up trick room when needed, could be a backup wide guard user when aegislash's match up is poor, lots of stuff. but also, hitmontop has that fighting stab to ohko bisharp. bisharp's the kind of nuisance who has stab coverage for both psychic/ghost AND fairies who set up trick room, so you gotta deal with this guy straight up. intimidate on its defiant might seem a bit strange but you can avoid it or play around it with... wait slap some protects on your pokemon bro, you need that for the plays...

In singles, it really depends on the legendary itself. Something like Uxie or Regirock is ok to use, but generally shit. Something like Lando-T and Latios is allowed and pretty good. Stuff like Rayquaza and Mewtwo are not allowed in tiers besides Ubers and are extremely good

Rocky Helmet Ferrothorn. If you can catch its U-turn twice, it'll take 29% each time.

Add rocks, and Lando is losing around 80% just for switching in and U-turning out TWO TIMES.

the point of it is to be a fast nuke, so aerial ace is pretty useless. Most people use tailwind in the last slot for occasional utility, although you could also run wisp or taunt

Aside from that, I'd say to EV everything at level 50 so that you make sure your spreads are optimal.

this is basically a list of the most used pokemon in VGC 14. It's relatively recent, as VGC 15 isn't out yet.
aside from that, I generally look more at the team analyses people post for ideas/sets/threats to look out for. Aside from that, build a team and try to playtest it. It's one of the best things to do for VGC.
Once VGC 15 comes out, there will probably be a decent amount of new guides, but honestly I'd wait to learn the meta until the new rules are announced.

Is a Gastrodon + Rotom-H pair good enough to counter Salamence in doubles?
Basically, Rotom resists the Flying STAB, Gastrodon takes the Hydro Pump and is 3HKOd by Hyper Voice, and Ice Beam kills back 75% of the time without SPD investment on Mence.

It may be better in OU, but sacred sword is virtually nonexistent in RU. you need a stronger ghost type attack for shit like Cress and Bronzong, and most things that take damage from Sword can't do much to blade anyways (ex: Cobalion)

I have a Relaxed Amoonguss with this IV spread: 31/31/31/31/31/4, which results in 33 speed at level 50 with no investment, vs. 31 at a 0 speed IV. Is there much of a point fussing over the difference? Speed tying with common TR mons like Reuniclus, Slowbro/Slowking and other base 30s doesn't seem too attractive.

At 33, I'm only tied with Carracosta, Stunfisk and Iron Ball Politoed (who even uses that?) and am 1 point slower than Bronzong.

So that's actually an okay spread sitting between all those TR mons, isn't it?

For example I was considering Scrafty over M-Lop, the Rest/Shed set with Bulk Up, Drain Punch and Knock off.
Similar offenses, similar defenses, Donphan may now run Ice shard over Knock Off or I can replace it with M-Blastiose.
But, the team slows down too much now.

The team before that had M-Blastoise, Banded Crobat and LO Mienshao over Donphan, Nidoking and M-Lop, respectively, in case anyone cares.

i wouldn't go full gimmick on it, it's not that great

something like skill swap cresselia is okay as a partner because it has a lot of other uses
otherwise maybe have a redirector on your team (togekiss for fighting resist) to help buy it turns
and until slow start ends use its massive bulk to spread paralysis and maybe get a sub up
