Welp.
I'm starting to work on my pokedex. I banked over a shitload of pokemon from my older games, I'm at 438 already and thought I might as well try and complete the dex in the remake of my favourite pokemon games. I'm starting out by using Wonder Trade a bunch so I can gather as many unique ones as I can, then when I get bored of that (and have enough pokemiles) I'm going to invest in a shitload of rare candies to evolve pokemon faster.

Anything else I can do to make this less monotonous/quicker?

Not really. Have you caught all in your game region yet? Do that first then wonder trade + gts trade starters.

I've began filling mine as well. But I wanted to do it from scratch. I have all but 4 eventmons and And nearly done with the regional dex.

rare candies are not a good way to evolve pokemon. you should really only use rare candies to get things from 70-100. otherwise they are inefficient compared to just levelling things normally. gts is much more effecient than wonder trade.

They're indispensable now with Blissey base grinding. You level so much that you meet the level for two evos, but can only evolve once per battle.

Rare candies save you time from having to do another battle.

I mentioned in another thread about it, but I can't remember what I mentioned except for a few things:

see what you have, and go from there. Looks like you have over 400 so you're more than halfway done which is great.
What I did to keep track was print them all on a piece of paper and cross them off when I was done. Next to the mons, I wrote the level they evolved so I wouldn't have to keep checking serebii or whatever to figure it out.

>Evolve Up, not down.
Evolve you mons to their highest form, even if you're missing the 1st/second stages. It's easier to breed and then get the 1st stage with a Pokemon thats already at a higher level. Unless you have them in the wild,where you can just catch two.

>Worry about legendaries last
This wasn't a problem for me since I have tons of all the events all over the place because I collect them, but I'd say don't worry about them right now. Put them to the very end.

Other than that, just work at it, a little at a time. Might be good to complete ORAS's Hoenn Dex or the individual dexes in XY before going full living. That helped me a bit when I was working on mine in XY.
