>>22088699>he just didn't realize how much people liked the Battle Frontier.eh. Then why create a new frontier from scratch for Platinum?
>>22088704I'm going with this. ORAS only took a year to make, apparently. Who knows if this was a forced time limit or not from higher ups, though. We do know that GF likes to reuse/recycle assets whenever possible, and conserve resources by copy/pasting. (example: All of gen 4)
Gauging from the interview, maybe post game stuff is no longer a priority for them? Why take extra effort/time creating something only a small fraction of your customer base is going to reach, let alone care to seriously delve into? Could've been a simple cost versus profit decision. Most of you guys still bought the game.
Kinda unrelated but: Reminds me of this interview with Myamoto about how Nintey realized barely anyone reached the end of Ocarina of Time. They hoped to fix that in the remake (by "making the game easier" in some aspects). In fact, I think I read somewhere that most people simply don't finish games. Most people don't bother reaching the end boss (I can attest to this with countless RPGs).
Maybe this is all a symptom of trying to find a way to make more players "win." … but if everybody wins
then no one does.
