Never did before, but after I realized(I went autist) that catching was going easier by pressing buttons and I got primal groundon with pokéball, I can't stop it anymore.

I don't know where I picked it up, maybe my older brother back in the G/S days, but I always mash the A button when catching a Pokemon. Up until last year I thought that it worked.

Hold down B as soon as the pokeball hits the pokemon. Use the directional pads and time it so I press them in accordance to when the pokeball shakes.

I never had one of the true brick Gameboys, but the Gameboy Color only launched two months after Red and Blue. Most people probably got them both at Christmas of '98.

Just for fun, I put my XL next to it.
It's hard to tell from the picture, but the Gameboy is actually smaller in every dimension but depth, but it is WAY fatter, and only a tiny bit shorter/less wide
