Hi there secret base friends, I'm new to this fun (just began secret base business yesterday). I somehow managed to have my world filled up with some secret bases from people online (how does that work?) and I went and visited them all, picked up their flag, then invited them to my base, aand then inquired if they had any flags for me.

It's been 24 hours since then, now am I supposed to kick them all out except one of them, and then update my NewsNav thing? This is in order to get a whole new bunch of people in and then get flags from them etc, in order to get like Gold rank in a week.

Also does the NewsNav thing update every 24 hrs or 8 hrs?

Talk only to people with at least a silver rank.
Let them give you a bundle of flags.
Kick them out.
Invite new people and repeat.
Reinvite the old ones.
Delete all those with green and bronze flags.

People you ask to join your base won't give you flags if they haven't gotten any flags for the day. Your chances of getting a flag from a grunt is higher if they're Bronze rank or higher. Keeping them there for a certain time won't do anything in terms of flags. QR scanned bases can be invited to join your base, but they won't give you any flags.

it's just an English phrase that describes the action of taking an idea and then pushing it away and not using it.

So GF had the idea of putting regirock and registeel in game for everyone, but then they decided to not do it.

I tried going for a theme look sorta the first or second time, but now I'm just trying to make it sort of like a house. I was just gonna camp on the Islet until my IRL friends got bases, but since most of them still don't have the game, I've been thinking about moving my base somewhere else...

I'm currently farming berries and flags, my base is in route 120, the one that is enjoyed by berry growers and people that like little lakes (looks so gorgeous at night). My base has a bed for comfy, that is kinda fenced off, and then a living space/battle space.

As I go about farming flags I notice a LOT of people have their bases in those 'secret isle' areas, places that I've not yet unlocked as I'm only just a fresh face at Lilycove. So you may want to choose a base that your irl friends can access easily, perhaps one of the bases around the mountains or along a nice path in a tree or bush.

I was unhappy when I saw how they all just stood in a line, felt so... cold and plastic. Then I realized I can move them around and what not, it's a neat way to personalize the base if you don't mind using those spots.

Okay that's good, I never owned R/S, only Emerald. Think the only mon i have from Emerald is Regice though.

They should give you something from bringing a mon from Orre, transferring those is an ORDEAL, especially when you're not to Kanto in HGSS so you can only transfer 6 a day

Nope, it's the one you show to the GF director. I saved before showing him a Trapinch and it shows it using its third gen sprite. Also noteworthy is that my shiny Mightyena showed up as a regular colored one and Roserade just makes the poster not show a Pokemon at all, so I assume that's with all evolutions added after gen III considering they wouldn't have the sprite.

Here we are! Finally got the base to sync. Moved to the base in the cave with all the Whismur near Verdanturf. Should be easy enough to get through, and even with the Level Release on, my team's probably not terribly tough, but eh, here it is anyway.

well, it's either there or a spot near a waterfall that has the layout of the hallway, then two holes for planks to cover, and two separate rooms. I think that may be my 'endgame' base for a while, I just need to get planks at the sale this Saturday (hopefully).
Why is it that you want pokemaniacs for your base?
For me, at the momento, I'm happy when I come across rangers as it means access to stones, and decent ones, if i get lucky.

Their skills are the only ones I'd ever use [dec builder, fortune teller, stone search, and treasure hunting], and I'm a pokemaniac so I want to do a "hiding a needle in a stack of needles" thing.

I have been thinking about doing this for a while so I finally went ahead and did it, I turned my base into a Blissey base. The rules are set to Double Battles so the first 2 kill themselves with Healing Wish and the last one dies to Toxic Orb damage. I also made my class a Schoolgirl which has 4 extremely useful skills incase you want to invite me back to your base.

This is actually kind of clever. I'm tempted to use chairs as an obstacle in my base now.

Not necessarily mood lighting, although that's one way of doing it. If you look in your inventory there's a worn out lamp and if you set it up, then touch it, it'll make your base dark. This method is available from the get-go, the mood lighting, however requires a shit ton of flags.

I got given a Ganlon berry from one of my Base friends when I accidentally chose "Look for Berries". Might be able to get the other ones like Salac or Custap.

They're ok. Each base has a different theme. I know in Secret Meadow, the hex maniac has the a dark base with the litwick lights, and the beauty has some cafe thing going on. It's actually kind of annoying since you have to zigzag your way between the chairs to the flag.

You get flags when you pass by someone who has picked up flags that day. If they're random passerbys, chances are you won't get any flags from them. If they're your online friends, you have a better shot, at least.
