its problem is a shit speed tier, just like arcanine
on top of that it has shit bulk and no boosting moves worth using
and electric is a terrible physical type, almost as bad as ghost
it has no niche

take the 10 it got in def and put it back in spe
and give it technician as its ha and itd be really popular in uu

you can fix magmortar the same way, take the additional 20 out of its defenses it gets and put them in spe then give it sheer force

its really a shame they arent usable, they both have incredibly unique movepools

Electivire and Luxray are the only physical Electric types out there outside thunderous

Both got Electric/Ice which is a good combination

as well as Fighting type moves with Luxray getting Super Power and Electivire getting Crosschop

Luxray gets Crunch, which works great with Super Power Coverage while Electivire gets Earthquake

Crunch is shit for coverage since it'll be neutral on everything that matters and STAB electric would still be better.

You run coverage because 100 base power earthquake hits for 200 base power on something weak, which would be necessary to kill it when your regular STAB can't. 80 base power crunch doesn't kill anything that STAB boltbeam wouldn't hit just as hard.

Its coverage is much better than every single special Pokemon out there running hidden power.

The whole problem with Electivire is its speed, which was managable in Gen 4 because you could steal motor drive boosts, but sub-100 without proper defenses isn't going to fly nowadays. Even worse when Team Preview killed its available niche to actually steal boosts.

Reckless Wild Charge would be cool as hell actually.

I wish those Gen 4 rumors where a bunch of the Pokemon in the Field egg group would be getting Volt Tackle were true. What people mean by "not strong coverage" is just that ice punch isn't good enough, otherwise Wild Charge gets STAB and Earthquake is still 100 base power.

For whatever reason, Wild Charge is like the only Physical Electric attack with spread, and even that's only 90 and causes recoil

Better off Crunching a Psychic or Ghost type if it gets Super Effective instead of using Wild Charge

That's the point of the coverage, to get them where it actually matters

gallade is a great setter/sweeper. One of the best actually. The reason for that is knock off, almost every setter is weak to knock off because they're almost all psychic and ghost or holding eviolite, not only can it take a knock off but it gets an attack boost. 125 base attack with a life orb can pack a pretty mean close combat. Chandelure has a good niche as a sashed setter, and aromatisse seems like it was designed with trick room completely in mind. No taunt or encore, and wish and aromatherapy support

This is just how I've always used Gallade, and I needed a sashed setter. That gives you a big advantage at times and chandelure is good for that. I already have specs exploud so it's not like I'm lacking in special firepower
