The fastest way isto get someone with a living dex and have them constantly trade you back and fourth for all of the pokemon you need. Most likely, no one will be willing to do it for ALL of your dex, but just get them to do like 50-60 or so. To make it easy on them, just tell them which region you're missing the most and theyll be able to help you with that.

I have used Wonder trade to complete the dex i have almost a member for all evolutive lines and have gotten some good HA pokemon like speed boost torchic and carvanha by giving away zigzagoons and poochyenas

unless you're talking about them being caught in Kalos then going into bank, then that's okay.
but personally, i have no idea why people always transfer them. I try to get as many pokes as possible in the current games, then transfer any I don't have. am I the only one who finds hunting them down in each game is fun?

I just completed the Hoenn dex the other night, I'm at 523 national dex.

I want to fucking die. All the pokemon I need now are a pain in the ass to find/breed/level up even with the chanseys and so on. It's so time confusing I start asking myself if it's at all worth it...

The way I did it was to split everything up in between Gens. I'd do the Kanto Dex, Johto Dex, with long breaks in between. I never gave a shit about a Livedex before Gen 6 but I finally got around to doing it.

I'm a Chimencho away from completing the Hoenn Dex (plus Jirachi, but I'll TT it soon) and then all I have to do is the Sinnoh dex. Took a few months because I took breaks to keep my sanity, but it's fun. Plus, going back through all of Gen 4 and 5 to trade up a shit ton of mons really helped.

Last thing, if you have access to a Dragon Friend Safari I noticed a lot of people are looking for Shelgons. Pretty much everything I needed I just put a Shelgon up and 20 minutes later I had what I wanted.

I always catch everything that's possible in the latest games. Which is why I'm loving Gen 6. Everything except a handful of event pokemon aren't available in-game, and I agree, it's fun to raise and catch a full dex in a new game.

I've been working on a living dex since last month. I started on X and caught, evolved and traded for all the Pokémon in the Kalos dex. Then ORAS came out and I moved everything through Pokebank to AS. The rest of the Pokémon were easy to find in AS with the Dex Nav and the Mirage Islands and getting what was left with the GTS.
I'm nearing the end now; I've just got to evolve a Vullaby, breed Samurott and Sceptile as I had to trade away their pre-evo's, finish a few trade-evolutions and then the big finale, getting the remaining legendaries.

Best and quickest way to breed is to go along with a pokemon that has Flame Body to halve egg hatching times. Get a Ditto and leave it there, it'll level up. As past anons pointed out, the Ditto can then be put up for the events. People still fall for that.

Good luck anon. I've done it for both X/Y and OR/AS.

Stick "6 IV" Ditto to GTS, ask for anything minus events.
Get stuff within minutes.

Between that and catching shit, I built a living dex in 3 days.
