I never understood why Wallace ran bad pokes on purpose when it's proven in the delta episode that he has a much better team. Even of he wanted to "hold back" on weaker trainers, Luvdisc is just insulting.

My point is that, in universe, they scale themselves to put up a reasonable fight with their opponent. When you challenge him the first time you have 7 badges but in the delta episode you've defeated even the champion, so he pulls a better team.

This is why I wan't a future Pokemon game that let's you battle gym leaders in any order you wan't and there Pokemon and difficulty scale depending on how many badges you have.
I wan't them to just throw us into the game and we get to decide what we do and where we go to, I doubt it will happen but it'd be cool to see.

That's been a problem since BW. With ORAS now existing, hopefully Z will give all the gym leaders a decent number of pokemon, and the E4 at least 5 each.

Also, his team is the more fun. Taking on his Avalugg with a physical mon is great.

They should really make the Gym Leaders more difficult now since they're literally handing you legendaries along with the Exp. Share. It was nice feeling at least a little bit challenged in ORAS compared to the cakewalk of XY.

Flannery was also pretty insulting, especially since you just finished with Maxie (on OR at least) who had a much better team.

Maxie:
Mightyena, Golbat, Camerupt: Two fully evolved Pokémon, and all of them are pretty good at this point in the game, Camerupt has very strong Fire and Ground moves (Lava Plume, Earth Power) and even has Solid Rock

Flannery:
Slugma, Numel, Torkoal

Flannery should've had a Magcargo at least. I understand they couldn't given her a Camerupt since that's Maxie's Pokémon, but come on. Torkoal's Overheat hits kind of hard, but it can really only use it once.

DPPt's gym leaders were the toughest, I think, especially at first. First gym throws a Cranidos at you, a Pokémon with 125 base attack, when you're barely past level 10. Second gym gives you Roserade, a strong sweeper around level 20 that can probably one-shot a decent portion of your team, and the third gym has Machoke and Lucario, two big threats if you don't have anything that resists Fighting.

It was funny, people were hyping up Hugh to be the rival they always wanted who's actually challenging, and he turned out being a worse Cheren. His team was ass and he only fights you four times in the main game not counting PWT.

To be fair, we won't really need it anymore since pretty much every single Pokemon is obtainable through XY and ORAS combined. All you'll have to do from now on is transfer them through Pokebank. It is a cool feature, though.

I'm probably going to try that myself soon. I was foolish and used the Exp Share in my first playthrough, I'm wondering if the level scaling might not be quite so bad if I don't, and there were a lot of pokemon in it I haven't really used before. In early routes at that.

You get exactly the same battle facility, literally exactly the same.
Instead of trainers eye's you get Chateau, which is a huge downgrade.

I'd wait until the third version if I were you.

Pokewalker is a poor example of a feature you'd want to return. It was gimmicky, and has inflated the prices of the games so much that it's just not worth it anymore.

They could do something similar with the 3DS and its step counting though. That would still be gimmicky, but actually reasonable to include in all games, but they won't.
