Minmax it to have 1 base Def/SDef and + 30 stats on top of that to have identical BST to Nincada and the +10 GF gave to other random Pokemon this gen.

If it had Sturdy it could be banned even from Uber doubles, actually.
A prankster partner could use T-wave on him, which means he's becomes effectively immortal.

I actually had an Audino give him sturdy from one of my pokemon the other day, I wasn't expecting that and I regret it now.

It depends. I'd argue that in standard OU, the suggested "Combo Guard" ability is way better than Sturdy anyway. As >>22141641 argued though, Sturdy would break Shedinja for some other metas, most importantly including VGC formats.

Give Shedinja 4 HP. That's all it needs. Stealth Rock and Weather won't one shot it anymore, and it'll still be one shot by any actual attack.

Yeah, Skill Swap + Entrainment support already make him broken, giving him Sturdy just lets him skip all preparation.

He's already decent in VGC with safeguard support anyway.

Entry hazards, status effects and weather now have a type. Spikes is Ground-type, Stealth Rock is Rock-type, Sandstorm is Rock-type, Hail is Ice-type, Burn is Fire-type, Poison is Poison-type and Confusion deals whatever type the Pokemon is.

It would change the amount of damage done, it would just activate any abilities that rely on moves being certain types (so a confused Absol could boost its stats if it had Justified).

Does that mean if sandstorm is up and the opponent is for example a Bisharp, do they take the 1/16 damage that Shedinja would take or is it unaffected since its a steel-type?

Not everything needs it, but glass canons do.
Without speed Shedinja dies to anything with a SE move. But WITH speed you can come in on something not effective, force the switch (scoring one hit), and outspeed for a 2HKO.

Without speed it's a shitty gimmick pivot. With speed it can force a switch and actually fight. Probably won't stay in on anything, but we can't have a pokemon great at everything.
