I've been using a doublade to catch pokemon since X&Y. So many pokemon have normal recoil moves so the ghost typing has helped me not have to start over.

I always liked Weavile for False Swipe. It can also learn Thief, so you can kill a bunch of common guys like Taillow and steal those rare berries that grant resistances.

Thanks. Until X&Y I have been using a gardevoir with trace and thunder wave to find the right ability and paralize it, then bring in my scizor to sword dance and false swipe. But after so many hours of certain pokemon recoiling to death on me I've been using the due blade because it serves my purposes. Sword dance, thunder pulse and false swipe.

2.If fail to catch, have a Pokémon with Leppa Berry, and Bestow/Switcheroo, and Thunder Wave or Hypnosis.
3.If still fail to catch, bring out the good old Stallbro to prevent it from killing itself until you catch it.

I always liked Parasect as my "predator" mon.

It can learn False Swipe and stasis moves but also has Worry Seed to stop pokemon like Groudon using Rest.

And if you can get one with its' hidden ability (Damp), you can prevent pokemon form KOing themselves with Explosion or Self Destruct
