Actually, Blastoise is pretty good in Triples.

You get a base 150 STAB water attack that hits the entire other side from a base 135 SpAtk. Stick it together with something that either protects it or redirects attacks from it and you're good to go.

Helping hand/quick guard set up works well.

Using Audino to healing pulse it so that water spout keeps hitting hard isn't bad either.

I wonder if Blastoise would have been better if it had dragon type to boost Dragon Pulse further.

It would certainly have been hilarious in the days before the reveal of Mega Charizard X though, since Mega Charizard Y isn't dragon type.

In General it helps deal with Venusaur. I was more making a joke than anything.

Besides even with thick fat I think Venusaur makes a better Sun Booster Sweeper than a Mega.

What sets would you run with it?

Also that's pretty surprising weather teams aren't higher up. Triples seams like the perfect format to take advantage of them with their nerf.

It's not just that. Lots of pokemon have Intimidate.

It requires you're really familiar with the pokemon in the format. But if you are it's got the perfect moveset.

Hitmontop and Hariyama have Fake Out/Feint/Wide Guard for great support, Hitmontop's good for Intimidate and Hariyama if you want Knock Off

Hydreigon is good because pulse moves can hit any target from any position, and its STAB Dark/Dragon Pulse are obviously strong

Hariyama and Hitmontop are top tier supporters.
Hydreigon was really good in genV, I haven't played the ORAS meta yet, but judging by those usages it looks really useful even despite fairy type.
