HGSS is basically impossible for me to nuzlocke because of Whitney. Even Bugsy's Scyther is pretty threatening, but I manage to scrape by with maybe one or two casualties, but dat Miltank
Wonderlocke'd Y, ended up getting Mawile as my first pokemon, so it made it way too easy.
Basically, I'm just really shitty at games hue

Whitney was a pain, but Clair was always the real roadblock for me nuzlocking HGSS. Due to the level you're likely to be and the unlikelyness of having any dragon attacks to hit it supereffectively, her Kingdra is a beast.

My most awesome nuzlocke was a White run, which I really wish I'd made a point of taking notes on. It was the only nuzlocke I ever made it to the end without wiping too (Got to Steven in AS... fucking Megagross).

I do remember the final battle with Ghetsis turned into a brutal, drawn out slugfest that took me from a full team of 6 to 2 survivors, my Scrafty and Cofagrigus. My Alomomola sacrificed herself to heal up my Scrafty, and my Drudiggon somehow survived a Dragon Pulse from Hydreigon and oneshot it in return, only to fall to the Seismitoad (I think). RIP Momo and Mauler.

My first and only nuzlocke was sapphire version. My torkoal Raphael died to a sharpedo, not because it got hit, but rough skin. Wonderweis the shedinja died to wattson, who had rollout. Everyone but Fethadrago the altaria died to Steven in the end, thanks to x attacks that i had stocked up on.

My pokemon black playthrough really made me appreciate Throh. This nigga came at a time when my team was in shambles and I was clearly not ready for Lenora. He proceeded to be MVP for every single gym fight, e4 fight and ghetsis due to his bulkiness. He was the only pokemon that stuck with me all the way to the end.

Can't beat Bugsy's Scyther? If you were able to come across a geodude or larvitar that shit should be super easy to take down. The chances of getting a geodude before bugsy is pretty damn high too.

For whitney just play the daily drawing until you get TM60 (Drain Punch) and hope to god you ahve a mon that is compatible with it. If not, you can just teach rock smash to all your physical attackers.

Whitney is piss easy if you take a team of female mons in with you.

Morty is a dick tho.

Any Fire-type move will thaw the frozen Pokemon if it's ATTACKED with it, not if the frozen Pokemon uses it. The frozen Pokemon can only thaw themselves out if they use Flame Wheel, Sacred Fire, Flare Blitz, Fusion Flare, or Scald.

Man it is like people have different interpretations of the nuzlocke rules depending on which is more fun for them or something.
A strict reading of the first nuzlocke rules would imply that having balls or not doesn't matter for EITHER the dead rule, OR the catch rule, but long term it really doesn't effect anything if you wait until you have balls to apply both
