I actually do like a lot of the grass starters, but just not as my favorites a lot of the time. I did like Venusaur, Sceptile, Torterra and Serperior.

All four of them (I alternate whenever I play FR and Pikachu is my favorite Pokémon)
Totodile (battlewise)/Chikorita and Cyndaquil (designwise)
Mudkip, but I like all three
Chimchar, but I like all three
Don't really like any of them
Fennekin, but I used a Froakie during my playthrough too. Chespin a qt too.

The fact that you still name the Sceptile "the greatest or most significant or most influential" gen 3 starter ever only tells you how far your taste still is from becoming not pleb. /vp/ has long recognized that the greatest gen 3 starter of all time is Swampert, who is not the most famous or weakest or best furbait of their generation, let alone of all generations. /vp/ rank the highly controversial Emboar over starters who were highly popular in gen 5. You are still blinded by shit taste: Sceptile has the most competitively viable mega (not true, by the way), therefore they must have been the greatest. Swampertfags grow up playing a lot of Pokemon games of the past, and Blazikenfags grow up playing to a lot of Pokemon games of the past. You are often totally ignorant of the Pokemon games of the past, you barely know the best starters. No wonder you will think that Sceptile did anything worth of being saved.

Started with Yellow, but preferred Raichu over pikachu. Actually not a fan of any of the original 3 starters, least not their final forms.

Typhlosion, Feraligatr, and Meganium
None of them particularly stand out, and I've got nostalgic, emotional attachment to all three actually. Can't pick a favorite.

Sceptile.
First starter I picked in my favorite region, and after raising a whole new one years later in OR I can confirm Sceptile a best

Infernape
Actually competitively viable, favorite when diamond first came out, and still looks cool. Torterra close second

Serperior
Recently came to like Samurott more, but Serperior's just the best looking of the lot.

Delphox
Jumped on the Fennekin trainer early and stuck with it. No furfaggotry, just prefer the mage out of the three "classes"

I love all three Kanto starters.

Cyndaquil and Totodile lines are awesome, Bayleef is cool too.

Mudkip and Treecko lines are fantastic, Blaziken is alright I guess.

I tend go with the grass starter but never was a fan of Torterra and while I like Chesnaught alot I like Delphox a little more and is my current favorite starter with Serperior being a close second.
