Hey /vp/ hope someone can help me or point me in the right direction.

My 3DS topscreen went black, the screen appears to work but no image is shown at all, the lower screen works just fine, so does the audio and everything else. I looked it up and found a mix and match of people saying i should return it to Nintendo which is a no-can do for me and my third world condition, all the fix tutorials seem kinda dodgy.

Is this something to do with the image ribbon cable? Is my 3DS kill, it's the first model of 3DS
should I just buy a new one? Thank you in advance.
