I can understand them not putting in certain niches or gimmicks for each region, like the Pokeathon, Underground, Safari Zones, or Contests.
Though but there are certain things they do I just feel like is out of shear laziness.
Trainer customization did not seem like it would be used as a gimmick. It felt like and actual improvement you'd hope to see from then on. I mean hell, ORAS is using the same engine as XY. If you connect to an XY player it shows you as the default character. At the very least the could have ported over the things from XY instead of making new ones. Hell at least give us a few costumes to change from or a choice of different looking characters at the beginning of the game. The diversity made it a little more interesting. And what exactly was the point of taking away season changes?
