I'd say to judge RBY GSC using the period they've been released. Despite being a clusterfuck they had solid stuff for their time.

The only game I truly never enjoyed for the whole run was RFLG.

These polls are worthless, as it lumps 3rd version in for no reason. Additionally a straight Yes/No doesnt really mean anything; all the pokemon games were reasonably good except Diamond and Pearl and others are great. You should've split it by first duo and 2nd versions, and had 1/2/3/4/5 as the options, and calculate the average to get the value.

Frankly surprised at how much dick sucking ORAS is getting...

It seems a lot weaker than XY or BW. I mean, it's good. It ads some nice UI adjustments, but the fact that it's a remake really hinders it as a game. It's incredibly boring until after you catch the box-legendary.

I just remember liking the whole ride of XY and BW, and with ORAS i only enjoyed the last 2-3 hours of gameplay...

Pairing the third games with the first versions is a terrible idea. Platinum is easily 9 - 10 out of 10 but DP are only like 5 or 6/10. Same with Emerald and RS.

That... doesn't make them worthless, anon. The 3rd versions are pretty much the same game, just with extras. Vote on the most improved version if you like, it actually doesn't change a lot.

And again, this isn't meant to be hyper accurate~ ^-^; It's a good start. If you'd like to make your own poll and calculate the averages, go ahead. For now, this is simple enough for people to understand and gives us a decent idea of which sets of games are most liked.

Personally, I think ORAS overall is as good as XY, but only because of all the minor things pieced together. Comparing Main Games, without a doubt XY > ORAS. I suppose we're all still salty though, over what could've been. Don't worry, once ZX/ZY get announced, the Hoennfellating will die down.

So..I'll start sayin' that the first 2 generation are bullshit. I get nostalgia but the game was ridiculous compared to what it is now. Kanto and Jhoto are boring, the plot were almost non-existential and everyone of the first 7 main games has its fault.
Since the first reboot, the only really good ones are BW. They follow more o less the same script, but share the same problem: the lack of the features which the third versions and remake give to us. Everyone has their preference based on the region/script (I like Sinnoh, for example) but except for BW which were a little more experimental, they're all the same to me (I tend to go with BW>DP=RS>XY). Emerald and Platinum both redeem the original 4 games, and are generally two packed, large and good games. BW2 is the pinnacle of the series because we have a third-version-like-game with a new story. So new game with tons of things to do. Great.
I'm generally opposed to remakes, charging us again for the same game with an update graphics to me is borderline criminal, but both LGRF and HGSS make the original games more enjoyable cramming features (but fails to fix the main problems like that jhoto level curve). Speaking of remake, ORAS are generally good as standalone game. The dexnav is seriously fun (I'll cry when they will take it from us next year) but as remakes they're poorly made. Also they didn't fix the problem of the original but made them worse with the XY silly let's be friends babbling. The entire "BF it's too hard for the kids" thing made me cringe HARD and made me wonder if it's a good idea to stick with a franchise which doesn't seem to care at all about its adult fanbase.

RBY were incredible games for their time, especially in regards to Game Boy games. While the RPG elements are somewhat simplistic, it had an incredibly robust bestiary, library of moves, and really engaging world as well. It sparked a monster collecting craze in video games that raged for almost a decade.

Can people explain why FR/LG was a bad Pokemon game? Nothing about it stands out to be great, but it wasn't bad either. I think it's a solid 8/10. I think the only gripe I have is that I couldn't get Crobat, Umbreon, Espeon because of muh 151 pokemon

IMO, backwards step, removed most of the new stuff from RSE like contests, secret bases and didn't use the day/night cycle. It was just a remake really, no extra substance but for some shitty islands. And like you said, no espeon, Crobat, etc
