i like gen 2 and 3
i loved HG/SS
x and y were okay, but hardly any postgame
or/as are cool story-wise but worse postgame than x/y
i hated gen4 and found gen5 to be boring or at least not memorable

i also enjoy the older mystery dungeon games

I find that FRLG is the best "background noise" game. If I'm in the mood for Pokemon, but not sure which game to play specifically, I can always go to FRLG and play it on autopilot, since it's very, very minimalist compared to other games in the series.

They are the best overall games because they improved over the previous titles without removing features. It's a shame ORAS didn't have 2 years otherwise it would have completely outdone HG/SS.
