>>22186463The main problem is the direction this series is going through and how the developers are treating this series now. Those complaints are only part of the problem.
Pokemon was never really that hard, but to take away a good balance of difficulty present in past Gens or take out challenge mode is kinda insulting to the older fans of the series that GF claims they would like to keep.
Gen 6 shows noticeable dip in quality. While it did improve on online experiences, the game is linear as hell for those who like the main game and they can't seem to optimize their shit. XY came out for what was then a 3-year-old system. The 3DS is now in its fourth year and they still couldn't fix the engine changes in ORAS. There were minor engine problems in the games in Gen 4 and 5, but they weren't nearly as glaring as they are now. Gen 6 so far has also had an extreme lack of post-game content.
The Battle Frontier is, again, not the main problem. However, its the most obvious probably so people tend to stick with. I mean, the fact that they couldn't implement a feature from a game of 9 years is pretty lazy, let alone the fact they copied the laziest battle facility right into ORAS. GF says that people who want a challenge in the game could go on to the post game, but then they remove the Battle Frontier? You can't expect fans to be happy with that bullshit.
The games, now that they're much more powerful systems, can do a lot more. It's that they're taking such a lazy approach to the games now that fans are starting to get upset. Personally, I'm not asking for the games to be hard, but I would like a good challenge here and there. I would like to actually explore much bigger areas in the world but instead we get routes that are straight-lines in minecraft world, complete with a lack of any challenge whatsoever that was left out in order to give kids a sense of achievement.
