I wouldn't call it cheating, but I wouldn't call the presence of megas a good thing in any way. All they do is severely unbalance the game to a point where it's kinda broken.

Ever try to play a flat battle with no pokemon eligible for megavolution in your team? It's bullshit, cause most, if not all, popular megas need a solid check, or ANOTHER mega to counter. And nearly everyone has one because of this fact.

It's the same reason why knock-off and embargo shouldn't work with mega stones, because then literally everyone would have them.
Well guess what? The same goes for mega stones. They are the root of a problem, and I really hope they ditch them eventually at this rate. Or at least give us an in-game, no-mega rule.

I pretty much run him like a train.
his special defense is absurd so I use him like a special attacker killer seeing as how nothing is 4x special effective. stab payback from a mega gyarados will drop nearly everything. Facade is for burn insurance... I can make him do work, you just have to account for correct switch ins.

Bullshit. This has always been a thing, there have always been pokemon that will sweep you if you haven't built to stop them. Mega's just add a few more, along with plenty that are mid tier or worse.

No shit it's always been pretty bad, but megas took what was teetering on the precipice and launched it towards the sun.

At least overused pseudo shitters could be whittled down, and had far more unpredictable options to counter. The power creep has turned what used to be tough, unlucky matchups into an absolute faceroll rapefest.

Yes yes I know both can be dealt with, nor am I a pro tier competitor, I'm just saying megas are only part of the power creep.

All in all I'm actually glad for megas, as they at least boost some serious underpeformers like Beedrill and Altaria. A few more in the uber tier is a small price to pay for that in my book.
