Option 3: TR interrupts the race and Serena helps to rid of them, the race is resumed and she loses but Grace remarks on how she now sees how determined Serena is and lets her follow her dream now.
Option 4: TR interrupts the race, and once dealt with Grace says that the race doesn't need to be finished and Serena rejoices.

Ash often comes up short of his guarantees but it seemed a lot more emphatic this time than just a casual statement like "I'm gonna win the league!" and he reflected later that night on how he seemed to be getting at least somewhat closer to his dream and that he needed to get stronger. That's why I think he actually has a legit shot at winning the league this time.
And then if you're Tomioka, why not couple that with a romantic subplot where the girl helps inspire Ash? It's happened in two of the three gyms. Maybe that's how Amour is linked with Ash's goals.
