How far is Gamefreak from deleting Raichu from the franchise?

Pretty soon. I guarantee that Raichu will be deleted in the first main games of Gen VII, and it will be officially celebrated with the unveiling of Mega Pikachu.

Bullshit. I'm pretty sure they will just forget it exists and not delete it BECAUSE of that. Pikachu gets its Gen VII updates, ANOTHER revoiced cry, and mega evolves. Raichu remains exactly how it is in Gen VI and retains its old cry.

Raichu got a pretty good stat boost this gen, though. Speed went from 100 to 110, making it just as fast as Gengar.

Right now it works as a pretty decent Nasty Plot sweeper in lower tiers.

Not a bad moveset either. That +10 to speed made all the difference, really. Went from a joke to...slightly less of a joke.
