It helps to make a varied team, whether that's a team full of powerhouses or full of shitmons, that's up to you.

If you're not bonding, then what's the point.

If it gets too repetitive and you're no longer having fun, have a break.

I don't really like the Pokemon part of Pokemon very much. I like the world part. I'd rather just be playing modern-day-themed JRPGs without the competitive aspect, but nobody makes those.

I didn't enjoy ORAS, but I enjoyed X. That isn't to say I didn't think either game was lacking in content, because they were both pretty underwhelming.

As a lot of other anons have been catching on to, Gamefreak is kinda looking to shit out games at the expense of receiving our money sooner, and it's making me weary of the Pokemon franchise in general. I'll likely play the Z-quel and Gen 7 intro games, but if they keep up this trend I may just stop after that.

The trend isn't new. The only difference between now and then is that we are getting our games localised a lot sooner.

ORAS to me was just a fresh region with a new round of megas to play with. I had skipped gen 3 but by the amount of times I've replayed the games, I wonder how much of a factor that was to my enjoyment

I liked pokemon until I finished XY. It was fun until I beat the elite 4. I didn't even buy ORAS because I started to catch on to their bullshit. The new games are on the 3DS so they have a chance of adding more stuff to the games, but nooo, they have to make rushed and sloppy games and laugh at the suckers who but their half assed games and repetitive trash. It's better for new fans because it gets boring after 6 generations.

Got ORAS on release and loving every minute of it.

If you originally played RBY and GSC, you pretty much played all pokémon games. So you know exactly what to expect from Game Freak releases. This is why many anons knew what was going on when we got news about BF not being in ORAS. The ones who still enjoy the games are probably casuals or nintendrones who don't care about quality to begin with so their opinions shouldn't really matter at this point. In other words is perfectly understandable if you dislike the newer games because you basically have been playing the same game for more than a decade.

Personally I first judge the features the game has and replay value. If they're good enough then I might buy/play the game because I know I'll enjoy it. But there's no way I'll buy a pokémon game just because it's the latest game.

If this makes sense, I enjoy it the less I play it. When I was younger, I'd play it for hours on end, and it started to feel like a chore. Now that my days are busier, its really fun to flip open my DS and continue playing for a while. Then switch it off to play some more in a day or two.

i honestly can't believe how many items in the games are still given out for free just for talking to an npc

npc's should be more alive and give you quests and then reward you. go catch 20 nincada for a bugcatcher. encounter 20 unknown in the wild for a researcher. go grind and kill 20 wild magikarp and loot the dead monster for its meat and then give the meat to the local fishmonger.

they should just make it co-op/competitive locally

if you're playing in the same room as someone, they should show up live in your game so you can dick around

the fact that these ideas are so easy to come up with and would be so much more fun is really troubling and makes me concerned about how differently western and eastern developers/players must think

Only thing that will bring the adventure/exploring feel back would be to remove the gyms/'I wanna be the best!' or at least vastly downplay their importance. Makes the games feel more like a holiday in a foreign country as opposed to a journey.

I just got back into the series during Gen V and I think Black and White 2 were the best games to date (I have played the mainline games and the remakes from Gen IV and V, stopped during Gen II, before Crystal).

At this point, ORAS is serving me well as a storage unit, whereas the other games in the series I'd consider replaying again. If I want to play ORAS again, I'll dig my SP out and play Emerald.

I still think the games are good and I enjoy playing then, Y was fantastic and did a lot for moving the series into the 3DS generation. No matter what, though, in order to battle all my friends from college (graduated this summer), I need to keep up, yo.

ORAS was good, better than X/Y in many ways. I just wish it had more Pokemon in the dex like X/Y, guess I could just transfer stuff over..

Was dangerously close with XY though. Those almost killed my interest in the series entirely.

I'm really loving ORAS so far though. Just wish they took some more cues from Emerald while still keeping the ruby/sapphire distinctions, like having the Magma base be in jagged pass which makes more fucking sense.

I kinda want to get into competitive but I mainly like to play pokemon games for the campaign and just fucking around in the world. I'm addicted to the new Secret Base system and I like going around catching legendaries and playing with them in Amie. It's just nice to kick back and unwind in pokemon games, however I hope they do put more substance into the main cmapaigns in the future. I think I liked the whole of Gen 5 the most because of that.

I actually agree with you in one sense. I don't consider GSCHGSS's Kanto, FRLG's Sevii Island missions, Platinum's Mt. Stark story, or the Delta Episode to be postgame.

When I finish those things, that's when I consider myself to have finished the main game.
