Is expert belt viable?

Some people say yes, other people say Life Orb is better

I think its better used on a Pokemon that is meant to hit for Super Effective coverage

Depends, most of the time Life Orb will be more viable. But if item clause is an issue, Expert Belt will definitely be better than muscle band or forcing a choice item on a non-choice set.

Depends mostly on the Pokemon's role, and probably its typing as well. You really can't stick an expert belt on a normal type or something.

Expert belt is %20 damage but only on Super Effective hits

Life Orb is %30 damage on anything but you take damage

I think Expert Belt is better off on a pokemon that's meant to be bulky and all its moves are meant for coverage.

Most people try to boost or do something when Bastiodon is on the field, making a free stealth rock turn, afterwards i use Roar to fuck them over

I use Bastiodon specifically to Roar them and red card helps

You use Leftovers on a bulky Pokemon. Also, from my experience Expert Belt isn't worth the tradeoff because a good player won't let you get off those supereffective hits anyways.

Expert has one nice little use other than the damage boost, and that is to fake a scarf, or maybe Specs if they don't know the exact damage. Also,

It's like you want to lose your Skarmory to Magnezone.

Black Glasses is also fine on Bisharp, Smooth Rock is somewhat used on Tyranitar and so on.
