The best Contrary Serperior can hope to achieve is a Sub Seed set with Leaf Storm and Hidden Power or Dragon Pulse for backup. It has decent enough speed to pull it off, but that might not be enough in Priority: The Current Generation.

Another idea may be just drop the secondary attack and focus solely on the Sub Seed strat with Sub/Seed/Glare/Leaf Storm. Leaf Storm is only there to prevent it from becoming total taunt bait and allows you to get stronger each time you use it. Again, it ain't great and it's walled by other grass types, but what can you do? Serperior has a shitty movepool.

All that said, it's still my favourite Unova starter, so I am excite!

HP Fire is actually not particularly good on Diancie

It loses out on 110 speed ties with things like the Latis and non-BP Megagross, and it only really gains coverage on Ferro and Skarm

everything else is hit harder by Earth Power (scizor doesn't count because it just bullet punches you if you try to hit it)

Serperior still won't be that good but it'll probably be better than the PU (or FU, I don't care enough to check) garbage it currently is. Dragalge was able to carve a little niche for itself, it's not that good but it can fit on a few teams. Serperior might be able to end up the same way.

Only issue is that it has almost zero special coverage, I mean holy shit why, why do so many grasses have shit movepools.

That said, it can probably get away with a mono-attacking set. Something really annoying like Reflect/Light Screen/Knock Off/Leafstorm could work; provide screens for teammates, knock off items and attempt a sweep with Leafstorm once the quad resists are gone. Nasty Plot+130 BP STAB move is quite good, but it just doesn't have the coverage to handle things that resist it.

If you were really dedicated to sweeping with serperior you could make it bulky with leaf storm/hp fire/dragon pulse/sub, but without any investment into special attack even at +2 leaf storm is laughable.
