I think the problem will come for the powercreep. Gen 7 will just have more and more Pokemon that have higher and higher base stats than the generations before it. SO much like Slaking who at the time had ridiculous stats, nowadays the stats aren't even remotely worth the shit ability.
There's always hope for an added hidden ability, or mega evolution in the future, so not all is bad. I really love this guy, so it wont stop me from using him.
