Yes, there is even an NPC in the game that tells you this

Plus Sharpedo gets it's own unique sprite while surfing just like Lapras did in XY

Yeah, also, Wailmer and Kyogre both get unique models but they don't have any benefits or anything like Sharpedo I think.

Honestly, it's better then there being no new models, Christ, we got a Sharpedo that even has benefits, wasn't expecting anything like that from GF.
It's better then there being no models at all despite having Lapras in the game right before it, that's a GF move.

When you use the pokedex to see the size comparison part you see just how big Wailord is. You also see how much bigger Kyogre's Primal form is compared to its normal form
