I don't see how Archeops would be OP without Defeatist, especially in a world where 140+ offensive stats and 110+ speed is the norm.

I'm not entirely convinced it would be outright broken, but those stats are NOT the norm.

Only Megas have stats like that, and they have the restriction of needing to hold a Mega stone. Archeops has great mixed potential, great speed and holding a LO with those offenses are far, far more potent than what we typically see.

Either way Archeops dies in one hit, defeatist won't activate 90% of the time.

Thing is, we no longer have a flying gem, so most acrobatics sets are dead.
That being said, the move tutors have been kindly to it since ORAS, along with it's already set egg moves, so maybe fast utility is more the way to go

That should only piss you off if they were Legendary Pokemon or if you want the event 'mon itself, male and genderless Pokemon can pass HAs to their offspring if they breed with a Ditto.

Realistically, you wouldn't. last generation archeops's sp.att was already underwhelming, but acceptable for gimmicky shit. Now it's not even worth considering anymore.

Mega stones don't count as a held item for the purposes of moves. Knock Off doesn't get a boost from hitting a stone, for example.

Not necessarily. what anon forgot to mention is that there's a difference between the item not being applicable and the item not being there. I'm saying that just because knock off doesn't add extra damage because of mega stones, doesn't mean that the stone went away. That's to say the same for Acro. Just because you mega doesn't really mean the stone went anywhere, right?

No, it's perfectly consistent with how the two abilities work. Acrobatics only gets it's boost if your Pokemon is holding no item - but Mega Pokemon are holding their Mega Stone, so they don't get it. Knock Off only gets the power boost if the item is actually knocked off by the attack - Mega stones aren't, so no boost.
