I skipped Gen V because my NDS was acting funny. My favourite was HGSS because of the beauty graphics and soundtrack.
Ive played BW and BW2 a bit in an emulator, but I must say I remember shit, except for BW2 having a rash rival like GenIV.
I might consider buying BW/BW2 but first:
