Shame about the wifi going down. I kinda miss hunting for Pokemon in the dream world.

HGSS was really fun. I love the following pokemon. It was a pretty comfy game overall.

I'd say B/W were better than B2/W2 if only for the fact that I found all the characters likable and it was the first time a Pokemon game had a decent story.

I say that as a 29 year old who started playing Pokemon back in 1999 with Yellow. B/W was honestly the most fun I ever had playing through a Pokemon game.

BW2, though HGSS is right up there.

I have to admit, now that I've had a chance to give them both time, I think I prefer following pokemon to Amie. The latter is fun but it inevitably gets to the point where "Oh you're just about to get to the next tier of happiness, better play some games and feed you some blocks", where as with walking pokemon I could always just turn around and pat them whenever I felt the need. Also the location specific responses were a nice touch.

I gotta say it's probably B2W2, however Platinum will always be my favorite.

HGSS also has a place in my heart, but there are many things that bug me about it and keep it from being my favorite.

Honestly, so far, HG/SS. Played it so many times, it's great. However, I did pick up White, White 2, and Platinum today.

So far I'm really liking White. Probably my third or fourth favorite. My list is HG/SS, ORAS, B/W or R/S/E, R/S/E or B/W, DP, G/S/C, FRLG, R/B/Y, X/Y

Don't know where to place B2/W2 and Platinum since I haven't played them yet. But Platinum apparently solves all of the problems I had with DP, so it will probably be high up there.
