For some reason, this translates to shitposters on /vp/ that they are a bunch of rule-sharking no fun allowed sticks in the mud, and to the non-competitive pokemon players that come to /vp/ this appears to be the way they actually are.
Although there are many smogonfags who will turn into five year olds when they see a Mega-Kanghaskhan online, or all Uber-tier pokemon while the standard is OU, this is largely preventable by simply playing on sims or working out the rules of engagement beforehand
