Infernape shows us that defenses don't matter when you kill the other guy first, prankster shows us that speed doesn't actually matter if you still go first. Low speed, defense, and HP can all be negated with good priority. Look at Mega Mawile's 50 base HP and zero speed to speak of.
Scizor was like RU material before bullet punch, talonflame would probably be high NU without gale wings, fire priority is a niche we desperately need at this point in the game.
