Honestly, I think an RPG like Pokemon wouldn't be hard to play blind. Think about it: fucking nobody wastes a slot on flash, and we manage to get through those dark caves anyways. With sound effects, we can memorize attacks as well. Items would be hard...but honestly, who needs 'em?

Well you could probably play pokémon as blind, but it would require an in-depth guide. As long as your ears are working you should know when you do something correctly or what pokemon you meet. Judging by musical changes, small sounds when options are pressed or just simple cries.

What I'm saying is that you could play pokémon as blind, but it would require much more work beforehand and all elements of surprise would be gone.

I'd actually probably have a lot of fun playing Pokemon Stadium blind.

Like, you know what attacks you have mapped to what buttons. Down C for Fire Blast or something, then you get to hear that fantastic announcer tell you every part of what happened.

But as far as ORAS or something goes, so long as you can recognize that some sound is Super Effective and one is NVE, the cries of your Pokemon for encounters and using HMs, then you should be good.

I remember a documental in Discovery i think, about a blind child that can "see" through sound. He make sound with his mouth and he know the distance with the objects by reflecting sound. Well, I remember that this child is play with his GBA and although the game was not shown, you could hear the hoenn elite four battle theme.
