Dragon makes sense as a type when it applies to Draconic beings. Some just don't make sense, like Flygon, but usually, Dragon is actually a valid type.

What would Dragonite be if it weren't Dragon? Pure Flying? What would Florges be if it weren't Fairy? Grass, obviously, since it's a fucking flower.

Dragons are obviously Dragons, and they wouldn't fit into other types. What type would Druddigon be? Haxorus? Salamence?

If Fairy was themed after the actual Fae, I would have no problem. There's no reason why both Gardevoir and Jigglypuff should be Fairy type. One is a Fae, one is a pink puffball other wise known as the opposite of the actual Fae, which were evil/neutral fucks like the Headless Horseman, Elves, and Ledhy.

Pic related is a Fae. That's what Fairies should've been like.

I haven't even played Skyrim, though. I've just read up on mythology. Salamence is like the Dragon that the Perseides controlled. Rayquaza is like the Divine dragons from Chinese and Korean folk lore.

Admittedly, some don't make sense, better before the abomination that was Gen 6, that was just Altaria, which still had some basis. Gyarados and Charizard not being Dragons were because of balance concerns in Gen I.

Literally anything. Could've been Psychic since it floats. Could've been another Ground/Rock. Hell, you could just slap Normal on it, like Helioptile or Pyroar.
