I used to mostly ignore Surskit, but I caught a DexNav one with Hydro Pump early on, and it became a huge bro throughout the game. Dealing with the 5pp of Hydro Miss early in the game was a great challenge to deal with.

How about you, /vp/? Any Pokemon you used to dismiss that you became close with in ORAS?

I used to stay away from this thing because of the scores of fur and trapfags that flock to it. But I caught one that reminded me of my gf and it really pulled through. I used it from the second route right on up through the league. She's now muh bro.

I always liked sharpedo but never used him before, caught one and was getting psyched. I enter my first battle with him and.... WHAT THE FUCK, how did they fuck up his design so much... he has no tail or anything just a fuckwit star and flatness...

Hariama for me

Muhkuta rekt face but as the enimies got stronger hariama just became death fodder once it got toward the middle of the game. Too slow to outspeed anything and not bulky enough to live anything. it just became the sacrificial lamb.

I have this tendency to not use Mons I don't plan to take to the elite 4 with me, so I almost never use early-route shitmons. I figured to change it this time and around and I was pleasantly surprised! Giga drain, air cutter, and bug buzz is SE against a lot of enemies.

Mightyena and Mawile. I found Poochyena with Ice Fang early on and it hasn't stopped pulling its own weight and then some. Mawile I got a friend to trade me, since I'm on Sapphire, it's been great, too. I just found the Mega Stone for it, might put it on before the E4.

I also became bros with a Surskit OP, I came across a Lv14 one on Dexnav with Bubblebeam before I even had the first badge. It was awesome, and continues to be awesome even now as a lv60 Masquerain. The fact that its a glass cannon with intimidate is great for in-game, also the bug typing helps a lot with dealing with the dark types that Magma and Aqua carry around.

My unexpectedly amazingly awesome bro has been Geodude, Geodude single handed killed the Electric gym with magnitude, and now as Golem he never dies. Smackdown is a wonderful move when paired with EQ.

it is pretty fun. in X and Y I planned a standard 6 'mon team but kept the exp share on and rotated other mons to evolve them for the dex

Opposite for me, Makuhita was dead weight until it evolved, but I toughed it out until then and Hariyama turned out to be really great. It was taking some enemies down to half HP just from Fake Out.
