In truth, there's people who've never seen Smogon, haven't the resources nor money to pay for the internet (monthly) and save up just to buy Pokemon and save to go to Worlds/Championships of the Official VGC.
How, especially if they're older players who've been around since Pokemon began.. - is it that if they use these Sets that they can be or would be branded or bunched with Smogon/Showdown?
That's absurd logic and deserves a swift kick in the ass.
If anything, the players on Smogon/Showdown have learned/watched the Official VGC and mimic'd great players or upcoming players teams. Not one original team belongs to Smogon/Showdown.
