Pikachu. I got Blue and yellow for Christmas, popped in Yellow first

On Blue I think I chose Squirtle because that was the Box mon, and I thought you had to choose the box mon, so I needed to but Red to get charizard

you had to read to figure out which towns to visit and pick movesets

my team had two sets of dugtrio on it started with squirtle on red version. later had charizard on yellow

My older sister was getting the game for her birthday, and I helped my mom pick it out. I thought Red would be the better one because Charizard is on the front. She didn't play it a whole lot and ended up giving it to me. I chose charmander, and I absolutely loved the game. Pokefan for life ever since.

Hahahaha, you could literally wander those games and have fun killing stuff. It was fairly simple to know where to go after a while.

Pokemon isn't a complex game, never was.
