Made sure to invite -every- streetpassed base as a secret pal, and then talk to them at my own base to receive bonus flags. It's the only way to quickly gain flags. Although it is somewhat luck based as there's no way of knowing who you will pass each day.

I haven't progressed far enough into the game for secret bases, I only just beat my second gym then spent an hour on Y breeding a penta Ralts to become a Gallade.
My questions are; does streetpassing someone put their base into your game? Do you then have to find it? What happens if it's in the same spot as your base?

Blissey bases = Free exp farming.

As for in general, it lets players have a comfy spot all their own that people can visit and battle, and you can even make your own makeshift gym.

There are even people who make mini Trick houses, like Eth.

Ok, just out of curiosity, I scanned an old code for my first attempt at secret base, it didn't work with my 3ds XL it said "you cannot scan your own base", but it did work when I used my 3ds to scan it, even though I made the code with the same game!

So, I guess it's nice if you wanna test your own bases, you just need two 3DS system.

Hm.
I had read that the codes are AES-encrypted, but yeah... identical bases have wholly different codes.

I read that Mii QR codes save the AES decryption key in the first few bits of data, I'll play around with these and see what happens.
