>>22313862not that guy and not a ponyfag, but I think it started out ironically, like "yeah, i'm a grown man, i watch my little pony lol"
but turns out MLP's a pretty good show, i mean, it's pretty well-animated and voice acted and has good morals for the kids it's targeted towards, yknow, a real solid effort at making a quality reboot of an 80s toy commercial cartoon. Par the course for its network, the hub.
but then it just kind of morphed into this weird beast when the irony started to dissipate, because I don't know what the transition from "MLP watcher" to "brony" was, but i suppose it was just the wrong kind of people watching the right kind of show. every damn brony you ever see is one of those militant fedora-type weirdos, which means their personality is repulsive regardless, so what half of them are doing is clinging to the irony so hard and cranking it into overdrive in hopes that the "joke" of it all will make up for their shittiness as a person, and the other half poured everything they are into the show and want to fuck rainbow dash and all that because they're just sad, sad, sad little men whose only sense of amicable companionship is the interactions between the ponies on the show.
