A montage would probably work best. They'd play out a couple example rounds in full and then flash to the montage before finally showing the attacker succumbing to exhaustion or poison or leech seed damage or whatever the hell.

This. Just show the enemy gradually getting weaker while not being attacked by the other mon. It doesn't need to take 15 episodes.

Fastest way to stall vs a not poison or grass type, I think would be this?

Trevenant with Curse, Toxic, Leech Seed, if you manage to set them all on an enemy.

That's just the fastest way to passively whittle health away, definitely not the best way to try to stall
