Since it has been stated that there are different dimentions, some even without Megaevolution, do you think we'll ever have games without megas in them ever again, or was it just to justify the absence of them in previous games?

I'm pretty sure it was explained in gen 2 that dark and steel types where newly discovered types which is why they never appeared in gen 1, that means gens 1 to 5 are in an alternate timeline to gen 6 onwards (possibly, maybe)

There's a bit in the data that indicates which game a Pokemon came from, and only six values for this bit give the Pokemon the blue pentagon that marks them as gen 6 native. If they made more games beyond the next two, any Pokemon caught there wouldn't have the pentagon.

Fairy was stated to be a "newly discovered type" in X and Y.
The same happened with Dark and Steel in GSC.

Just...Pokemon doesn't make sense. The anime is the worst, then the card game, and now the games are following, albeit less so.

Eventually the entire franchise will become this weird sterile form of media which refuses to acknowledge any meta narrative and is terrified of using references to animals, fighting or sociopolitics.

I expect they'll get tired of mega evolution as a plot device in a few years, and might even ban megas from official tournaments and WiFi to make it slightly easier to balance, but actually removing mega evolution would basically be the same as outright removing some Pokémon, which I can't imagine them ever doing.

Mega evolution was implemented when gamefreak realized there was only 20~ viable pokemon and hundreds of useless shitmon, it's going to be slow in the start, but in about 3 gens every single pokemon will have a mega.ch

Outside of the narrative, we know that Pokemon has alternate universes. It's been an idea since multiple versions, and it was outright confirmed in BW with Opelucid City. Remember the guy who wanted a Pokemon with an Electric move from another universe? It's not that far of a stretch to apply that multiverse theory to ORAS and RSE.

Problem is, Zinnia makes that assertion in-universe, where there is no proof that RSE and ORAS exist in different universes.

Megas are probably here to stay, I remember reading an interview (can't find source) that the reason that Gen VI had fewer Pokemon was because they think there's too many to remember so I think mega evolutions are their way of adding new Pokemon designs while keeping the actual number of Pokemon down
