>>22319895It's been quite a few years, but what really stands out to me from that season is the lack of balance among the characters. Clearly you don't see it that way, but I recall there being an even more unbalanced focus on the characters than usual. Didn't only those two main characters (I forget their names) get more than two Digivolutions? Everyone else just got pushed in the background to focus on those two. I just didn't think that anyone else had very good arcs.
The other thing that I really remember from that season was they spent something like six episodes in that giant eyeball maze or whatever was going on with that. I guess you could argue that it was intended to allow for character development, but to me at the time it felt like filler, and was typical of the poor pacing and lack of plot progress that often plagued that season.
I'm sure there really were redeeming things about the season (I was being a bit hyperbolic, I suppose), but I just remember really, really disliking it as I was watching it. I did finish the season, but recall being extremely disappointed with it.
