They have literally nothing in common. one is NPCs and one are real people, one are normal 3 on 3 or doubles and one is for example a fucking pyramid you climb to the top, beating wild Pokemon, trainers and finding items along the way. How the fuck can they be compared to each other? Why not like both?
Also the bf contained not much story elements in gen3, we are in fucking gen6 now. If they bring it back they will and should be able to add a lot more stuff story wise.
