Would anyone else like to see the nature/characteristics system removed or improved?

Nothing rustles my autism more than having my favorite Pokémon have a nature that doesn't fit its theme at all. I don't want a modest Mantine. Nothing about that

I am perfectly fine with EVs however. It allows for different builds and without the hassle of RNG.

I get that you want to add more character to a bunch of 1s and 0s but what would decide the nature? The Pokemon species? Would every one in the species be the same nature?

Nature and characteristics are fine. They just shouldn't determine stats. They should just be there for flavour.

Keep EVs and natures.
Ditch IVs, or at least make them not affect stats any more.
Add more characteristics if you want to make each pokemon more unique.

I think they should keep all current characteristics and add more variables on top - like pokemon found in caves would have a natural tendency for a higher attack stat, which also could be passed on to offspring, but like a recessive gene, so breeding with the wrong partners could end up with the children having no chance to inherit it.

A jolly Sadfish is less jolly than a lonely Wynaut, but it is more jolly than other Sadfish

because like, physical/special pokémon, EV training, that shit existed from the start.
Sure items and natures are new, but you could just as easily have a kid squeeing over how great their jolly machamp is without needing to know that it's affecting its stats.
