I loved the friend areas, I preferred the postgame with all the funky mission quest chains all linking together, like the Ho-Oh/Lugia/Deoxys ones to the half-assed Darkrai one with most legendaries being basically free DLC missions, I loved the stuff with Gengar and Ninetails, like the Gardevoir quest, all the cool lore explanations, and the exile part of the game, I loved how you could customize your base based on your pokemon, I loved all that shit about the first one.
Time/Darkness were good, but there's just a lot of things that I prefer about the originals, despite the smaller amount of pokemon. Also the first game was a lot tougher for me, with a lot of 99 floor rapefests that I fucking thought were awesome.
