A couple of weeks ago, if not more, I bought ORAS and sat down to play it; today, I have only defeated the first gym leader and made no further progress.

I was hoping that ORAS would improve my opinion on Gen 3 as a whole because originally, I was pretty underwhelmed by RSE in the first place. Yes, one of the biggest flaws of RSE was addressed by opening up what kind of pokemon you can catch at the beginning of the game so that you're only options aren't Zigzagoon and Poochyena up until the 6th gym leader like it was during the GBA versions.

It feels heavily uninspired and more like it was made as an obligation than a sincere attempt rekindle a passion with older pokemon fans and new ones alike. The music isn't even orchestrated like it was in X and Y, instead, we get some Frooty Loops, soundfont-enhanced versions of the alread tired OST from the originals.

I really don't know if I'll end up playing through the rest of the game but I spent $35 on it so if anything, I'm at least obligated to finish it as much as GF was obligated to make it.
