Holy. Fucking. Shit. This is likely going to revolutionize the entire metagame that people play for almost 20 years now. Bodyslam is THE single most defining move of competetive RBY and normal types are the most common type besides psychic. Especially Snorlax but also Tauros will become even more difficult to deal with now. Also non-normal mons with access to Bodyslam might raise in usage for the single reason of being able to paralyze these two behemoths.
The stat modifier won't be that much an issue at least in higher tiers, but it's still impressive, that after so many years stuff like that is still fond out.

How would anything change? Normal is already a dominant type, like you said, and body slam is still a dominant move regardless of this discovery. How would it effect usage at all?

Bodyslam is important to paralyze things that are hard to paralyze by Thunderwave/Stun Spore because they often won't stay in on pokemon with access to them e.g. Starmie, Tauros, Alakazam (generally fast pokemon). One of them is Tauros, which now has one thing less he needs to fear. Snorlax does not care as much about being paralyzed, but their are already few mons that can take on Snorlax and if you can't paralyze it, things like Golem and Rhydon will have a harder time against it. Also Chansey now can stay in against Snorlax, Tauros and Lapras much easier, in order to paralyze them with Thunderwave. Actually this might balance for Tauros and Snorlax new advantage to some extent. Chansey will profit most from this, if you ask me.

Non-Pokémon Game Freak games like Pulseman, Drill Dozer, and HarmoKnight are actually good. And the first Pokémon games only came out in 1996 after 6 years of long and tough development as well as fear of going bankrupt (which almost happened) before finishing the project.
