You don't need to SR. Just run away, go to an island, use the Eon Flute, and it'll show up. I don't know if everyone knew this, or if I was just really slow.

What is so amazing about dex nav?
Sure you can get higher iv Pokemon but the max is 3 and you get a single egg move.
you spend ages chaining when it could be easier breeding.
I guess it may be worth it if you don't wanna breed.

3 star potential means 3ivs or higher Btw, I have found a 5iv poké via the dexnav. Also I think you can get more than one egg move too, dexnav is much more entertaining than breeding and can get shinies easier but breeding is more reliable for getting competitive shinies.

Well, the Run Away doesn't work for everyone... or at least, I don't know the methods for the others.

I only know about the Lati (with Eon Ticket) and the Genies. Which ones does it work for, besides them?

Breeding can give 4 egg moves. Dexnav can only give 1. Breeding can guarantee up to 5 perfect IVs. Dexnav can only guarantee 3, though you can still find mons with up to 6. Dexnav is only useful for getting mons with egg moves and or higher IVs during in-game play. Post game breeding is much better because it's much more reliable.

I got an accidental shiny Wailmer (HP Electric even) when I was just going for a regular old Wailmer.

I picked up shiny breeding a few weeks ago as a hobby. In under 50 eggs each, I've hatched a Charmander, a Porygon, a Gligar, and an A RA. Didn't get the same luck with Vulpix, but now I am trying to get Wailmer.

For the Lati, I don't know. I got mine through SR.
With the Genies, it worked for Thundurus, so I'm positive it'll work for Tornadus, Landorus, Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina.

Nope I stopped. Realized the amount of time getting her was not worth it. I normally get my shinies before 300 eggs though without the charm. If you're thinking of the masuda method, do the hunting while watching a movie or something because it can get pretty boring.

First Shiny ever was a female Sableye after 26 eggs, I was a noob back then and hadn't even used masuda method, just my sableye and a random same region one I got from wonder trade cause I didn't have a ditto yet.

Last hunt I wasn't even trying, just ran into a safari to see what it had and third encounter was a shiny Abra, masterballed that b cause I didn't have anything with shadow tag on me.

Currently hunting a shiny Chingling as a Christmas present for a friend.

I'm breeding hardcore for a 5IV Jolly Shiny Karp. My first real 'hunt' in ORAS. I can't wait to have the Red Dragon on my team. Been doing it for a week now. Almost got my Shiny Charm too, so that'll def help in combination with the Masuda method.

Skipped a shiny Linoone when I was still playing the story. Didn't even feel bad about it, since finding shinies is so manipulatable nowadays. There will never be 1/8192 struggles anymore.

Also got a few shinies off Wonder Trade. Fennekin, Luvdisc, Pidgeotto, Ditto. And transfered some shinies from Emerald and HG (Mightyena, Psyduck, Gyarados). And we all have Steven's Beldum of course.

I have a litleo and a tepig also. Happy to throw all three your way TBH. I am not doing anything with them. IIRC I bred the tepig and litleo with a 6iv destiny knot ditto, so they are probably pretty good mons.

Don't think chaining matters. Both times I got shinies from the dexnav (Swablu and Zorua) I had over 200 searches and was just restarting my 'chain'. First time got swablu in 17 encounters, Zorua in 25.

They're twice a day if you invite that person after you beat them to your secret base and rematch them there.
I also don't know why you would need more than the exp of 6 (3 in their base, 3 in your base) Lvl. 100 Blisseys with a Lucky Egg and Exp O-Power.
