i remember there being less legendary asking before gen 6, but maybe that's cause we had more options to specify searches like location, level, and gender

Moral of the story: If you can find a reasonable trade in the GTS, take it. If you can't, make your own.

Well you can check the option marked "ignore traners seeking special pokemon" which removes people searching for any species banned in the battle maison.
