>>22382992To be fair, shipping is mostly from interpretation interpretation. Characters being friends and expressing friendship in ways closer than the fans ever have in their own lives comes off being interpreted it as a signal of romantic if not lustful interest.
It might not even be a romantic hint at all, but fans jump to the conclusion because logically the idea is if fictional characters aren't expressing interpersonal relations on a more toned down level like they do in real life, it must automatically mean bumping uglies.
